SHE

Pages in a woman’s life,
Look for love and roll the dice.
Meet a man, now She’s a wife.
Feel some bliss, endure some strife.

Raise the kids to be their best.
Suddenly an empty nest.
Marriage doesn’t stand the test.
She’s divorced just like the rest.

She’s out in the single scene.
Meeting guys with twisted schemes.
Men who hide their wedding ring,
One night stands and weekend flings.

Girlfriend chatter on the phone,
She spends lots of time alone.
In a house not quite a home.
Thinking how the years have flown.

She meets the girls for lunch at noon,
Takes the dog and gets him groomed.
Tennis in the afternoon.
Cocktail time comes way to soon.

One nice guy, She has a date.
Call him back or should she wait?
Wondering, is it too late?
Forever single seems her fate.

In the mirror can that be She?
Aging lines so plain to see.
Not the gal She used to be.
Oh my God. I think She’s me!
