One Night Stand

A cheap motel with one night stand,
A bed and no TV.
I don’t know how we got there,
It still amazes me.

We’d chatted over drinks,
Somehow the time just flew.
I had just turned thirty,
I guessed you forty two.

Older woman, younger man,
That’s how the story goes.
Keeping our pretenses,
But shedding all our clothes.

Twenty years have come and gone,
(And other women too.)
But I still  see that one night stand,
And I still think of you.
