Hearts In Motion

She found he wasn’t perfect,
So he no longer tried.
They both stopped chasing rainbows,
That once lit up their skies.

Where once they both saw sunshine,
They both saw only rain.
What sounded like a chorus,
Became a sad refrain.

They stuck it out for years and years,
As if trapped in a maze.
But after wasting all that time
They went their separate ways.

They must now find it sad, I guess,
Reflecting on their loss.
And maybe even tragic,
When they added up the cost.

So when you first discover,
Your heart ain’t really in it.
Don’t just go through the motions,
Instead just up and quit it.
