Can You Dig It?

I dug a hole,
And threw in the shovel.
Kicked in the dirt,
And smoothed out the rubble.

Way down the road,
A thousand years hence.
It will be unearthed
At some great expense.

Archeologists then,
will ponder with trouble—
Why did some fool
Bury a shovel?
