Who You Are

You compel me to prose
Words like casual clothes
softly flow.

In the dark of the night
By word processors light
Here they go.

You don’t know who I am
And I can’t guess your plan
Does it show?

In a sea cast adrift
With no port in your midst
Caught in tow.

Like a bird lost from sight
As she ponders her plight
And her woes.

I’ve been there myself,
Lived my life on a shelf,
Felt alone.

Its not easy to stay–
Or to just run away
Yes I know.

Who you are.
