Hot summer nights entwined neath the stars,
Your first taste of me in the back of dad’s car.
Moist secret places explored and discovered,
Taking you home and dodging your mother.

Too early in life we discovered each other,
Never were friends but always were lovers.
Then took separate paths away from each other,
Made real friends and found different lovers.

I came back home for this class reunion,
Hoping to see you and check out your new one.
Nothing has changed and you don’t look older.
(I know it’s a lie but that’s what I told her.)
