More or Less?

The more that we acquire, the more we have to lose.
And further down the road we find less exits left to choose.
This seeming contradiction is ultimately fate.
Life is full of tradeoffs, unknown till its too late.

We trade our time for money, and buy all sorts of things;
A bigger house, a better car, a brighter diamond ring.
Then finally when we’re out of time we find it a bit sad.
We traded what we really want for what we always had.
