HIGH SCHOOL REUNION

Went back to my reunion,
Was it that long ago?
When we were kids in high school,
My how the time has flown.

There’s old Dave the football star,
No longer trim and fit.
He’s boring me with stories bout,
His artificial hip.

My God can that be Sandy,
On whom I had a crush?
If she should trip and fall on me,
My bones would all be crushed!

With raspy voice and trembling hand,
The once class President,
Takes the mike and starts to speak,
He looks so tired and bent.

The super stars from yesterday,
It seems did not pan out.
Their pensions barely get them by,
They live a life of doubt.

The girls who once seemed homely,
Have blossomed now at last.
The prom night queen of yesterday,
Is fat and fading fast.

Who are all these old folks?
Is this a nursing home?
I think I see Rod Sirling,
I’m in The Twilight zone!
