HANG IN THERE

If at first you don’t succeed,
Well, welcome to the club.
I can’t recall a first time,
When I didn’t make a flub.

First marriage was a failure,
(I bet that yours was too.)
Got tangled up in knots,
First time I tied my shoe.

I failed at my first spelling test,
And algebra was worse.
In fact my all-time watch word is,
Rehearse rehearse rehearse.

My string of first time failures,
Could reach around the globe.
It hasn’t gotten better,
As I have gotten old.

As proof this little ditty has
Been written out two times.
The first one was a failure,
But this one turned out fine.
